Kindness

Kindness is at the heart of our community. We encourage children to treat others with compassion, empathy, and respect. Whether it’s helping a friend, welcoming a new pupil, or showing care for the world around us, we believe that small acts of kindness make a big difference.

Confidence

At Langley we welcome our responsibility to promote British values which are considered to include:

• mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith

Here are some of the ways that we strive to promote the above at Tudor Grange Primary Academy Langley:

• We actively promote an explicit set of school values that are understood and shared by all the school community and that underpin the life of our school and form the backbone of our collective worship programme.
• We work hard to foster a culture in which everyone is valued and respected with an acceptance and exploration of differing beliefs through curriculum opportunities. We encourage a strong ethos of charity, compassion and understanding both within and beyond our community with a strong and explicit policy of inclusion and equal opportunities.
• Our Religious Education programme covers Christianity and the other main world religions while our admissions policy welcomes families of all faiths and none. We celebrate the rich difference and diversity in our school while identifying strongly with those things that are common to us all through our clear vision and strong values. We celebrate national events including Remembrance, Diwali, Chinese New Year and Eid.
• We strongly value the development of our children as individuals through our commitment to the teaching of PSHE and Citizenship, through an established programme of relationships and sex education and a curriculum that promotes questioning, collaboration and independence.
• We are committed to the well-being of all children through our clear safeguarding policies and procedures including our robust anti-bullying policy with explicit action against homophobic bullying and a behaviour policy that is based on tolerance and restoration
• We involve all stakeholders in determining rules, aims and values and hold regular elections for posts such as school councillors. We work in partnership with local police officers and involve a wide range of community workers in our learning including police, fire service, Post Office and NHS etc. engaging with the Prevent agenda as appropriate.
