In this unit of ‘Being Me in My World’ the children will spend a few lessons learning about the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child. This is an international charter that was written to guarantee the rights of all children in countries who have signed the convention. In groups, the children had to decide if the articles were true or false. We then discussed what some of the articles meant and what the children can do if they don’t think their rights are being respected or met.
