Year 5 enjoyed taking their art learning outdoors as part of our sculpture topic, Interactive Installation. The children explored how artists use space, scale and materials to create artwork that transforms an environment and encourages the viewer to experience it in a different way.

Using a range of materials, including school OPAL equipment such as tyres, crates and loose parts, pupils worked creatively to build their own installation pieces. They carefully considered where to place their sculptures, how their work could interact with the outdoor space, and how it might make others feel or think.

It was fantastic to see the children collaborating, problem-solving and experimenting with different ideas while developing their understanding of installation art.
