Year 5 had a fantastic and very hands-on day in D&T today as they began work on building their own truss bridges.

The objective was to measure, mark out and cut materials accurately in preparation for construction. Pupils worked carefully and confidently, developing practical skills such as sawing and safely using a cold glue gun. It was wonderful to see their teamwork, concentration and problem-solving skills in action as they prepared the individual components ready to assemble their bridges. They did an amazing job and showed great resilience, patience and creativity throughout the session.
