In lesson 2 for our unit of sculpture- bridges, the children used dried spaghetti to make a truss bridge. Truss bridge’s use triangle formations to add strength and stability to enable them to hold huge amounts of weight.

The children had to work together as a team to tape, measure and snap the spaghetti to create all the elements of a bridge.

They then needed to test their structure by adding weight to the bridge.
