Today our Eco Council explored the school grounds to check on our compost bins and learn more about how composting works. We talked about why compost is so important, how it breaks down over time, and the ways we will be able to use it to help our school garden grow.

We then got properly hands on, creating new covers for the bins using recycled plastic sheeting—repurposing materials that would otherwise have gone to waste. The protective covers will help keep the bins warm and working effectively. Everyone worked brilliantly together, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm.

We are really excited to continue using our compost bins and to see the difference our efforts will make to our school environment.
