This half term, the children have been learning about Islam using the enquiry question ‘What is the best way for a Muslim to show commitment to God?’

Over the weeks, the children have been learning about The Five Pillars of Islam, which are the five fundamental obligations Muslims must fulfil, forming the foundation of Islamic practice.

As well as research, talking to experts in the class and drawing their understanding of the five pillars, the children created freeze frames to demonstrate either Shahadah (the declaration of faith), Salah (performing prayers five times daily), Zakat (giving to charity), Sawm (fasting during the month of Ramadan), and Hajj (making a pilgrimage to Mecca for those who are able).
