Year 6 have reached the end of their unit on light and have consolidation their learning by exploring the harmful effects of the sun. We carried out an experiment on the use of sun-cream, leaving our sun-cream handprints out in the sun for the day to analyse and discuss why sun-cream is so important. We then went on to test our own sunglasses by using UV beads and light sources to assess whether our ‘trendy’ eyewear was fit for purpose. Finally we designed and marketed our own designer sunglasses which we tested in the glorious April sunshine. A great way to end our topic.
