The design and technology topic for year 6 this term was “Come dine with me”. The focus of the unit was to research, design and produce a 3 course meal based on 3 hero ingredients of peppers, salmon and Pineapple. The children spent a whole afternoon putting together their culinary master piece and the ‘Pis de la resistance’ was all in the tasting.

The plates were clean and children had lots of positive things to say about their food.

“I didn’t think I liked salmon but I’m going to ask for it again for dinner”

“The pineapple is so fresh”

“I think we should start cooking the school dinners”

A wonderful opportunity for the children to explore the wider opportunities of our curriculum in preparation for their secondary journey.
