During one of our history lessons, we looked at the different ways Anglo-Saxons built their homes. They often used ‘wattle and daub’. Wattle was the sticks they weaved together, and the daub was a combination of mud, manure and water to bind it all together and ensure a solid structure which would keep the wind out. Year 4 had a go at replicating this using lollypop sticks, pipe cleaners, clay, straw and water.
