Year 5 have been exploring the incredible story of Robert Falcon Scott and his expedition to the South Pole, while learning how to write diaries. Using extracts from Scott’s own journal, the children discovered the challenges he faced and the emotions he experienced. To bring the story to life, they took part in a freeze frame activity, recreating moments of Scott and his team pulling 100kg sledges across the icy Antarctic terrain—capturing expressions of determination, exhaustion, and teamwork.
