As part of World Music Day, 1F wrote a song linked to Song of the Sea. We collected a bank of important words and phrases linked to the narrative and wrote a song that included these themes and ideas. The children have done a wonderful job of performing it. I do apologise for the quality of the videos; I had to compress the files to be able to upload them for viewing.

Myth and magic, hand in hand,

Ancient tales in a beautiful land,

By the lighthouse, near the shore,

Cu, Ben and May, they love to explore.

Song of the Sea, the shell is calling,

Magical orbs are so enthralling,

Selkie’s child, the golden key,

Opens the chest to set her free.

Coat so soft, her hidden gift,

To the beach, where her spirits lift.

With the seals, she swims so free,

In the waves of the deep blue sea.
